Merida Weblog / » Hotel Bets in Merida Yucatan: Villa@MéridaOpened in 2005, the peaceful Villa@Mérida is just 10 minutes’ walk from the busy centre of Yucatán’s thriving capital, Mérida, a treat of a town. known for its culture (not one evening goes by without some public musical event), spectacular colonial architecture, shops, and women in white, brightly embroidered huipiles (see hotels in Merida). The villa, a cleverly-converted 19th-century colonial-style mansion, offers sanctuary in the form of seven rooms, with 21ft beamed ceilings, original tiles and traditional dark-wood furniture , cosy bathrooms and delicious natural bath products. Most rooms are set around the large internal courtyard, while two occupy the upper floor, bright and airy, overlooking the lush gardens Be sure to enjoy cocktails in the shade of the arched veranda, beneath iron lanterns. You can eat in the baronial dining room, or around the pool on balmy evenings. Service is unfailingly efficient, friendly and helpful. For those wishing to bring back the flavour of Mexico, cookery classes will begin from next January. For more information about Mexico tourism please visit hotels in Mexico.
